Fundraising is an essential part of putting together any big event. Together we’ve come up with a total aim and have planned multiple different events to enable us to fundraise. We are so close to our target already because we’ve all worked so hard both through group fundraising and individual fundraising too. Examples of what we have done so far consist of a Christmas party, raffles, busking and a Mariokart tournament and we have so many more exciting events planned that we will be sharing with you guys very soon!! Due to the current situation in the world today we have chosen to donate a portion of our funds from our fundraising to the Refugee Council. The Refugee Council was founded in 1951 to support and work 13,000 refugees and people seeking asylum the UK every year. The charity provide crisis advice, counselling and support with settling and integrating people into new communities, specialising in working with refugee children who come to the country alone. The charity also works to improve the asylum protection system and the stigma towards refugees and people seeking asylum.
